Just days after being granted his last wish, Daniel Fleetwood lost his fight with cancer. Last week we saw a huge movement from the Star Wars communities across the country coming together to get the word out to Lucus Films and Episode 7 director JJ Abrams. Daniel’s last wish was to be able to see The Force Awakens before he died fearing that he would not make it to the December 18th releases date. Daniel’s wife wrote this facebook post earlier today. She wrote:
“Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero. Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together.”
Daniel was diagnosed with a rare connective tissue cancer known as spindle cell sarcoma this past July, and he was only given a few months to live. The #ForceForDaniel hashtag was able to secure an early screening of the movie.
Rest in Peace Daniel
